Operate
Control the cost of your MCP servers
Each Bonnard plan includes a fixed number of calls for each monthly billing period. When the included calls run out, your apps refuse requests, unless extra usage is on.
Requirements
- The Owner or Admin role in your Bonnard workspace. The Member role cannot open Billing.
What counts as a call
A call is one tool call that an agent makes through your apps, from an AI client or an API key. Calls to the staging URL count too. When an AI client draws a chart, its read of the chart view counts as one more call.
These are free:
- Connections, refused or not, and the tool list.
explore_docs.- Downloads of export files (the export itself counts).
- Work in the console at
app.bonnard.ai.
A dashboard counts as one call, for any number of charts. A failed call counts only when the agent or your database caused it, for example SQL with a wrong column name. These failures are free: Bonnard errors, timeouts and lost database connections.
Plans
| Plan | Monthly price | Included calls | Each 100 extra calls |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3,000 | $0.95 |
| Team | $150 | 20,000 | $0.75 |
| Scale | $600 | 100,000 | $0.60 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom |
A billing period starts on the day of the month that your plan started. Unused calls do not carry over. See Pricing.
When the included calls run out
At 80% of the included calls, and when they run out, Bonnard emails the workspace owners. Owners and admins also get a banner on Overview.
When the included calls run out and Extra usage is off, your apps refuse requests with HTTP status 402 until
the period resets:
- Your workspace members get
allowance_exhausted. - Your customers get
not_serving, which names no plan, price or limit.
To serve calls again, an owner or admin can start extra usage or change the plan. With extra usage on, the apps stop at your spend limit, if any.
Start extra usage
- In the console, select Settings, then Billing.
- In the Extra usage card, select Turn on extra usage.
- Optional: set Spend limit to on, and enter the Maximum extra usage per period (USD).
- Select Continue.
- If no card is on file, enter the card details and select Save card.
- If a card is on file, select Continue to use it. To use another card, select Use a different card.
With a limit, Bonnard emails the owners at 80% of it.
To change the limit, select Edit spend limit. To stop extra usage, set the Extra usage switch to off, then select Turn off extra usage.
Read your usage
- On Billing, Usage this period shows the calls used and the reset date.
- The Usage tab of Observability counts calls for each tenant (the value that marks a customer’s data in your database), free calls too. Any role can open it.
Change the plan
- On Billing, in the Plan card, select Upgrade or Change plan.
- Under a plan, select Select.
- For a larger plan, select or add a card. Then select Pay <amount> and upgrade.
- For a smaller plan, select Confirm downgrade.
An upgrade starts immediately, with a new period and the new included calls. The Confirm step shows the amount due today. A downgrade starts at the next period. For Enterprise, under the plans, select Contact us.
Payments and invoices
Update, on the Payment method card, opens the Stripe portal for your card and invoices. Stripe charges the plan each month, and extra usage on a separate invoice after each period.
If a payment fails, the Payment failed card shows a date. Until that date, the included calls continue, but extra usage stops. After it, all calls stop. To update the card, select Manage billing.
